About the college
The College of Dentistry was established in 2012-2013, as it was a building belonging to the presidency of the University of Wasit. Study began there on the basis of a five-year curriculum, and it was taken into account that the curricula were compatible with the most prestigious scientific colleges. It was managed at that time by acting Dr. Hossam Majeed, Dean of the College of Medicine, and it had one stage. 200 students, and the teaching staff and laboratories depend on the College of Science.
Then, in the year 2013-2014, the college moved to its current location in a building shared with the College of Medicine and the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, where dentistry had one floor consisting of 3 classrooms and 2 laboratories, and the number of students became 230 students and the number of teaching staff was 3 teaching staff.
In the third year, 2014-2015, the college expanded in terms of the building and became three floors with 6 laboratories and 8 classrooms. The number of students became 380 and the teaching staff reached 10 teaching staff
In the fourth year, 2015-2016, the college developed after opening educational clinics and receiving patients, and this achievement is the main goal of this college.
In the fifth year, 2016-2017, the first class graduated from the College of Dentistry.
In the academic year 2017-2018, the Crowns and Bridges Laboratory was opened, bringing the number of college laboratories to 8 laboratories.
In the academic year 2018-2019, the educational clinics were expanded to bring the total to 10 clinics.
In the academic year 2019-2020, the educational clinics were expanded and developed by adding new advanced equipment.
In the academic year 2020-2021, the college was equipped with modern furniture and the classrooms with new and modern cooling devices.
In the academic year 2021-2022, the classrooms were equipped with new curtains and the college walls were restored and painted.
In the academic year 2022-2023, new classrooms were opened, the halls were modernized, surveillance cameras and modern audio equipment were added to the classrooms, and new clinics and medical equipment were added to the educational clinics.
