The medicinal chemistry laboratory is considered one of the basic laboratories for students of the College of Dentistry, as through this laboratory the student learns the following matters:

)) Laboratory safety and how to deal with laboratory tools and equipment related to chemistry in all its branches.

)) First aid inside the laboratory and how to deal with cases of injury to which one is exposed.

)) Identify the names of chemical and pharmaceutical compounds, identify their harmful effects, and how to deal with and store them.

)) In the field of general chemistry, the student learns training in detecting negative and positive ions that are important from a health standpoint.

)) In the field of analytical chemistry, the student learns the difference between quantitative and qualitative analysis and how to estimate the volume of a number of organic and inorganic substances.

)) In the field of organic chemistry, the student learns methods for detecting active groups in organic and pharmaceutical compounds and methods for purifying and separating various organic compounds.

)) The student also learns to measure the melting and boiling points of liquid substances

In addition to measuring the acid function pH

)) In the field of biochemistry, he learns to identify the composition of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and methods for detecting sugars and amino acids.
